I Like To Spell It With An 'E'

The scene opens in the parking garage and a silver BMW screeches to a stop. The door opens to reveal a jeaned leg, and attached to that leg is none other than Adam Gray, Silverback. He's wearing a black motorcycle jacket and a pair of sunglasses. He's hunched over slightly and looks over his shoulder before heading inside the arena. A moment passes before a shadowed figure dashes after Gray.

Who Foreshadows Anymore?

Brian Rentfro: “This was earlier in the day when Intercontinental champion Matt Stone arrived to the arena with Katrina

We come in with Stone getting out of a renal car, his championship around his waist and he grabbed his bag out of the back seat. Katrina came out of the passenger’s seat.

Katrina: “I still don’t understand this. Get yourself disqualified, keep the title and be fresh for Wood later.”

Matt: “No, I’m a fighting champion and I want to prove that when I beat Vic Wagner clean in the ring, then go on to beat Marvin later. This is my night Kat, I want you to remember this night.”

Katrina: ‘What if we remember this night as the end of your career?”

Matt: “Why would you think that?”

Katrina: “You’re in two matches, the second one almost guaranteeing itself to be a long fight between you and Marvin. You know how he’ll attack any weakness he sees.”

Matt: “I have no weaknesses, you know that”

Stone winks at Katrina as he walks into the arena with her behind.

Matt Stone vs Vicious Vic Wagner

PWA Intercontinental Title Match

Eric Emerson: “Ladies and Gentlemen, the following contest is scheduled for one fall and it is for the PWA Intercontinental championship…”

A lion roars then the heavy guitar riff, and pounding drums of King of the Kill start.

Eric Emerson: “Introducing, Fighting out of Munich, Germany He stands at a height of 6 feet and 4 inches tall, weighing in at 253 pounds.”

Eric is cut off as the vocals of the song kick in

I rule the jungle, I rule it with pride
I'm judge and jury, your life I decide
I have awakened for my nightly feast
a reign of terror, beware of the beast

Vic Wagner appears at the top of the stage with the Grizzly Beer title belt around his waist. Vic looking pissed off to be here. Behind him is Dolten Adler holding a large flag in-front of him. One half of the flag is a WW1 German flag, and the other half is an Irish Erin Go Bragh flag. Vic points to the flag and salutes; before Moving to the top of the ramp.

Don't try to run there's no way to survive
a vicious surrender I'll eat you alive
no one is safe until I get my fill
all hear my warning I'm king of the kill

Wagner holds up his right hand with his ring and middle finger forming a V and yells "Vicious", then quickly brings up his left hand has his ring and middle finger forming a V and yells "Vic". He then places the two Vs together to form a W and Yells "Wagner", and then lowers his ring fingers to flip off the crowd, and then begins to head down the ramp with Dolten following him.

stalking the land for the scent of my prey
stopping for nothing don't get in my way
left to the vultures your life is denied
I rule the jungle I rule it with pride

As Vic Wagner heads down the ramp trash talking fans, he almost ends up throwing punches at a few select fans some other fans he makes a jerking motion towards. Dolten yells in German at a few fans that make moves towards himself, and Vic.

Don't try to run there's no way to survive
a vicious surrender I'll eat you alive
no one is safe until I get my fill
all hear my warning I'm king of the kill

Vic Wagner rolls into the ring, and stands up motioning for the fans to keep booing him. Dolten hops up onto the apron. Vic the then moves over towards his corner; where he ends up half sitting and half leaning on the second turnbuckle. Dolten walks over to Vic corner, and climbs to the second turnbuckle holding the flag over Vic's head. Vic then stretches his arms out over the top ropes waiting for the match to start.

Let Everybody See,
The future here in me
Just watch the wheel go 'round
I'll cheer as you go down!

Matt Stone comes out from the back to a chorus of boos. He struts down the ramp towards the ring, wearing his patterned hoodie with a large Maple Leaf on the back. He threatens to hit a member of the crowd who was holding up a "Canada sucks" sign and just walks on.

Eric Emerson: “And his opponent, weighing in at two-hundred and twenty pounds, being accompanied to the ring by Katrina, he is the reigning PWA Intercontinental champion…”

Whoa!
You're only smoke and mirrors
Whoa!
You're only smoke and mirrors
Whoa!
You're only smoke and mirrors
Whoa!
You're only smoke and mirrors to me!

Eric Emerson: “Ladies and Gentlemen, this is Matt Stone!”

Matt gets on the apron and gets inside the ring, heading straight to a corner and mounts the middle turnbuckle raising his hands. "I'm the best there is!" He shouts out over the loud jeers being rained down on him. He shakes his head to their reaction. "You don't deserve to see me!" He shouts out getting down and taking off the hoodie. Matt get's ready for his opponent, bouncing off the ropes to loosen up as his music fades away

Jon McDaniel: “So we have both men coming off a loss of sorts at Ground Zero, let’s see who can rebound here”

Brian Rentfro: “I’m thinking it’s going to be Vic Wagner. Stone is still beat up from getting his ass kicked three ways from Sunday in that Dome and Vic just looks hungrier.”

Ding Ding

The bell sounds and the match is underway. Matt Stone immediately charges in to Vic and hammers him with a left and a right. Vic covers up, but Stone stays on the offensive. Matt connects with a knee lift, striking Vic’s body where he wasn’t protected, then clubs him in the back of the head. Vic looks a little shaken and Stone springboards off the ropes and comes back at Vic with a clothesline, knocking him down on the mat. Vic quickly rolls out of the ring to get his bearings. Stone is quick to follow and when Vic sees Matt coming he takes off, running around the corner with Stone in hot pursuit. When Vic turns the corner, he rolls in the ring and Stone goes to slide in, but stops himself and pulls back as Vic sends a kick straight at Matt, but hits the mat as Stone pulls back.

Brian Rentfro: “Vic tried to sucker Matt in, and it didn’t work”

Jon McDaniel: “Stone is quickly becoming a veteran here in the PWA.”

Referee Daniel Davis steps in front of Vic to back him up, allowing Stone save passage into the ring. Matt gets on the apron and gets in the ring as Vic quickly pushes past Daniel and strikes Stone in the side of the head with his forearm. Matt slumps down on the mat and Vic starts to take control as he sends a few kicks down at Stone.

Brian Rentfro: “Veteran or not, Vic got him”

Jon McDaniel: “It would seem so, but don’t count out Stone yet”

Brian Rentfro: “I know that!”

Vic backed of and allowed Stone to get to his feet, but he stayed on the attack, catching Matt with a forearm to the side if the head, dazing him. Vic then grabbed Stone by the right shoulder and spun him around, tossing him straight into the ring post! The camera at ringside picked up on Stone swearing as he immediately grabbed his shoulder. He slowly turned out of the corner and Vic took advantage, Vic place his opponent in a standing head scissors, then grabs a hold of his opponent’s waist. Vic then lifts them up for a Piledriver. He quickly hooks his right arm around his opponent’s left leg. Then jumps up spinning a full 360 before falling into a kneeling position driving his opponent head first into the mat with a Spinning Reverse Cradle-Tomb Stone Piledriver!

Jon McDaniel: “Oh my god! Vicious Cycle!”

Brian Rentfro: “I don’t believe it, new champion?”

Vic rolled Stone over and covered him, hooking his right leg. Katrina put her hands over her mouth at ringside.

Thre-NO!

Kick out!

Brian Rentfro: “I don’t believe it, Stone got the shoulder up”

Jon McDaniel: “Vic can’t believe it either”

Wagner shot up and got right in Davis’ face, saying he should have gotten a three count. Stone was clutching his right arm still, dazed from the blow. Vic came over and started to pick Stone up by his hair, getting ready to lock in his victory when suddenly Stone broke free, leapt in the air and grabbed Vic’s head, bringing him back down on his knee face first.

Brian Rentfro: “C-c-c-c-combo Breaker!”

Jon McDaniel: “I don’t believe it”

Vic hit the ground hard and Stone quickly crawled over for the cover, hooking both legs with his left arm

Ding Ding

Katrina jumped in the air with excitement and ran over to grab the Intercontinental championship, Stone rolling away and out of the ring, clutching his right arm again. Katrina brought the championship over and checked on Stone as they walked up the ramp

Eric Emerson: “Here is your winner…and still PWA Intercontinental champion…Matt Stone!”

Brian Rentfro: “Matt survived his encounter with Vic, and it didn’t take that long, either”

Jon McDaniel: “He’s holding his right arm though, could be serious.”

Brian Rentfro: “I’m sure Marvin saw that too”

Sommertime in January?

The lights cut out in the arena, and the fans begin screaming and cheering, now fully aware of what is about to take place. The same video begins that shows an old man in a rocking chair with an old gramophone next to him. His callous, boney hand reaches over and places the stylus to the edge of the record rotating on the turntable. Popping noises begin before a voice echoes a solemn chant harboring the beginning of "Requiem for a Dream" by Clint Mansell. The eerie violins begin to build as the voice continues to chant.

The music rises in waves, but changes tempo differently, a faster cut that reaches a sudden stop as a large cloaked figure rises from the center of the stage.

The music softens and the violins take center stage of the piece, the chants growing steadily as the figure is turned slowly on a platform. The figure raises its arm in a sort of salute as flames burst from each side of the cloaked figure. And then as the music reaches its peak...the figure throws the cloak away...

And Raizzor, admist a tremendous pop, begins to decsend the stage towards the ring. His movements are ghostly, as he stalks to the ring and takes the steel steps fluidly. He enters the ring and stands there, silent and solemn as the music slowly drains into nothing. A tech hands him a mic and he moves to the center, listening to reaction of the crowd. Moments pass, before he raises the mic to his lips.

And he pauses, his eyes flicker around the arena and the fans in attendance. The corner of his mouth flickers upward, enjoying this very moment, to finally be back in a PWA ring. His eyes move from right to left, surveying all around him.

Raizzor: It should be no surprise to anyone as to why I am back.

The crowds voices rise in unison, a single word can be heard above all else... and he nods once, nearly imperceptively.

Raizzor: And it should be of no surprise, the victim I have set my sights upon.

The crowd reacts accordingly, another name now apparent.

Raizzor: I am out here to remove the last vestige of mystery that may be on some men's minds, to announce my attentions, to explain my actions and to...

Raizzors lips continue to move, but no sound comes forth. It takes a moment before he realizes his mic has been cut, the fans now booing profusely. Raizzor quirks an eyebrow, seeminly nonplussed, and then the ADC tron comes to life, showing inside the production truck out back. There, we find Mark McNasty having shoved one of the tech guys out of his chair, and has shut down the audio into the arena. He's yelling at the techs that if they touch anything they'll be sorry.

Raizzor drops the mic and walks to the ropes and slips between them to the floor. He walks with a brisk pace up the ramp, while on the screen McNasty turns and notices the camera man behind him catching him on film.

McNasty: Hey, get out of here before he sees me!

As McNasty yells, Raizzor exits the arena, the fans now cheering on as he stalks to the back. We cut to McNasty, still in the camera man's face who seems adament to keep filming, even with the threats of removing his testicals can be heard. McNasty opens the production trailer door and jumps outside, and the camera man keeps following, seemingly unconcerned for his own safety. McNasty, pissed, turns to walk off only to come face to face with Raizzor. The crowd roars as McNasty backpeddles against the truck, eyes wide and curses vehemently;

McNasty: How'd you like that, jack ass! Getting your mic cut, can't talk, being screwed with. Serves you right!

Raizzor tilts his head in a slight nod.

Raizzor: It is fair.

McNasty blinks, an agreement not what he expected and it causes him to sputter.

McNasty: FAIR? You cost me a shot at being the PWA World Champion; how the fuck is that fair!?

Raizzor: I said the technical difficulty issue was fair. What I did at Ground Zero, was not intended to be... fair.

McNasty spits on the ground.

McNasty: No shit! Why'd you get in my business!? I've done nothing to you.

Raizzor takes a step forward, causing McNasty to bump against the truck.

Raizzor: We have unfinished business, Mark McNasty. My actions should effectively provoke you to accept the challenge I propose to you.

McNasty: Unfin... what the?? What challenge!?

Raizzor offers an uncharacteristic smile.

Raizzor: Genesis.

The crowd pops, McNasty's expression turns sour, but before he can speak, Raizzor turns and walks off, leaving Mark McNasty speechless, well almost, as he turns to the camera man and spits an unfair accusation.

McNasty: This is all your fucking fault!

McNasty stalks off, pissed, and the scene turns to the camera man. He pulls the camera away from his face and takes off his cap, which has a hair extension and sunglasses strapped to it... and Chamelion grins his Cheshire grin.

Chamelion: Yes.... yes, it is.

Whistling an unfamiliar tune, Chamelion turns and walks off the screen.

Leonard Luv vs Kyle Stevenson

Singles Match

Leonard Luv makes an impressive PWA debut by making short work of Kyle Stevenson. Or at least, by making short work of someone who looks like Kyle Stevenson. Actually, by beating someone who looks like what we think Kyle Stevenson looks like. To be honest, we're not entirely sure who Leonard beat. But what we do know is that he came out to the ring, pulled off a couple flashy moves and three seconds later had his arm raised in victory. Not bad for a day's work.

Winner: Leonard Luv

Polo!

Suddenly, the twisted music box music is heard over the PA system of the arena and "The Blood Red Sandman" comes storming out from behind the curtain and moves down the ramp towards the ring with a purpose as he tightens his grip on the microphone in his hand, he reaches the ring just before the lyrics start.

Dante:"Cut the music!"

The music continues to play a little longer.

Dante:"Cut the fucking music!"

The music stops.

Dante:"The last few weeks, "The Blood Red Sandman" has been in jail! That's why he hasn't been here on Rampage or at the Xmas at Ground Zero Pay per view."

A murmur falls over the crowd as they start to talk amongst themselves as Marco pauses for thought of reflection.

Dante:"Just as I was on my way to the arena for the Pay per view, I was driving in my car, not breaking any laws, but apparently, the local Police Department saw fit to pull me over on a suspicion! Yes, a suspicion!"

More murmurs from the sold-out crowd.

Dante:"Infact, I managed to get a hold of the footage of the stop from the Police!"

Marco point to the PWAtron and the video starts to play from the dash camera of the cruiser, it looks like a normal traffic stop until the cop asks Marco to get out of his 2012 Charger SRT and then he somehow finds a bag of marijuana on his person and Dante starts to dispute it, but the officer slams him down onto the hood of the Charger and cuffs Dante and leads him back to the cruiser out of view of the camera and then the video stops.

Dante:" I knew that the weed was planted on me, I just can't prove when BUT!"

Crowd:"WHAT?"

Dante: "This was all some con by 'our illustrious and fair' President, Rob Robinson!" Marco makes the quotation marks with his fingers as he spoke.

Dante:"He got me arrested so I wouldn't be at my match for the Pay per view, but before that, he's been ducking 'The Blood Red Sandman', but this, this takes the cake! He's scheduled me against Lucious Starr, twice against Dallas Hoover, hell, everyone under the sun, except Cody Bogard!"

Dante:"He scheduled a match with me a few months ago at Good vs Evil, that didn't happen, I knew he was there but he was mostly hiding in his office with security outside at the door. But I leave with this: Phoenix, You can run and hide, but how long will you run before you tire and finally come face to face with me in this ring?"

Marco starts to leave the ring and pauses, preparing to speak again.

Dante:"By the way, I hear you're now the reigning PWA World Heavyweight Champion, Phoenix!"

Marco throws down the mic, causing a thud followed by feedback as he imitates Aaron Rodgers' touchdown 'title' motion, hip motion and all as his music cues up again where it left off as he exits the ring, making his way back up the ramp.

Justin Case vs Danny Monroe

Singles Match

This match isn't a technical wrestling exhibition. No sir, this is what we call a good old fashioned brawl. Both men said some things this week, hurtful things, and they've got just two options. They threw "kiss and make up" right out the window and go right for "beat the crap out of the other guy". Justin Case's history in REBEL Pro gives him the advantage in this sort of thing, but Danny Monroe manages to keep up just fine.

They brawl back and forth, spilling out of the ring, then crawling back into it, only to fight back out again. If this were a cartoon, they'd just be a big ball of dust running around the arena, but since this is totally realsies, we see all the flying fists, the kicking feet, the biting teeth, and flowing blood. And there's oh so much blood. It looks like a reenactment of Carrie in here.

Things are looking up for Monroe until a shot to the nuts ruins his night. But a simple pinfall isn't good enough for Justin Case. He slides a table into the ring, because if Robinson hired a REBEL Pro star, then that's what he's going to get. Unfortunately, putting your opponent through a table leads to a DQ in the PWA.

Winner: Danny Monroe via DQ

That Didn't Look Good

Matt: “Just pop it back in”

The camera comes in on the medical room in the arena, we see Matt Stone sitting on the table with Katrina standing close by, a doctor examining his shoulder.

Dr.: “Mr. Stone, you have a separated shoulder, it would be in your best interest to forgo any further competition tonight and rest your shoulder.”

Matt: “I didn’t ask for your medical opinion, I told you to pop it back in”

Dr: “Very well”

The doctor puts his hands on Matt’s shoulder and pop his shoulder back in its place. Stone screams out, Katrina looks on with a worried expression on her face. Matt rolled his arm a bit and hoped off the table.

Matt: “How are the stitches holding up?”

Dr: “They look fine, but again, I stress you should not compete any further tonight Matthew…”

Matt: “Thanks doc”

Matt walked out the door with Katrina quickly following, the camera turns to watch the two walk away.

Gonzo McQueen vs TMB

Singles Match

Thomas Manchester Black seems to be coasting by, obviously planning on using his Golden Ticket to succeed in the PWA. That's the only reason I can think of the Gonzo McQueen improves his record to something and 0 with such ease.

Winner: Gonzo McQueen

Hoover Talking While Starr Waits In The Ring

“Wedding Nails” by Porcupine Tree hits the PA, but there is no sign of Dallas Hoover. It’s just Jared Locke by himself with a microphone. He signals for the music to be cut before raising the microphone to his lips. Before he can speak, the crowd drowns him out in boos. He looks at them irritated, waiting for them to stop before raising the mic again.

Jared Locke: Bad News, Starr. Dallas isn’t going to be able to make your little play date. Turns out the doctors aren’t convinced Dallas is any condition to wrestle tonight. You’re just going to have to wait if you want a piece of my wrestler.

Jared lowers the mic and his music hits and as he turns around to go backstage, the crowd explodes into cheers. Jared pauses, confused, and then looks behind him. Dallas Hoover is there. He walks forward with a slight limp, a heavy-duty knee brace on his left leg. He takes the mic from his manager as his music fades.

Dallas Hoover: That’s not what the doctor said, Jared. He said it would be better to put off the match, but if I wanted to compete, he would sign off on it. I’ve decided I want to compete.

Jared takes the mic from his wrestler.

Jared Locke: Yeah? Well, if you want to flush your career down the drain and screw that knee up more than it already is, be my guest, but you’re going to do it without me.

Jared throws down the mic and storms backstage. Dallas watches him go for a moment before shrugging his shoulders and making his way to the ring.

Lucious Starr vs Dallas Hoover

Non-Title Match

This match is closer than you'd expect, what with Dallas Hoover's gimpy knee. But Lucy Starr is looking for a match and is nice enough not to target the knee and takes the hard road to victory. Not what I'd do, but, whatever.

Dallas Hoover works hard to keep up with the former PWA World champion, but his offense isn't what it could be considering how he has to work around his knee. Hoover rightly decides to take the match to the mat and starts working submission holds, designed not so much to make Starr submit but rather to wear him down and keep him down.

Things are going fairly well for Hoover, until Starr decides "screw this shit" and lands a hammer fist on the wounded knee of Dallas Hoover. From then on, Starr decides to fight the Phoenix way (aka the easy way) and targets the hell out of that knee. Because that's what you get when you let your opponent know your weaknesses are before the match starts.

Starr slaps on a figure four leglock and Hoover screams in agony. Luckily, the Grizzly Beer champion remembers his basic wrestling strategy and rolls over on the figure four to reverse the polarity of the damage. Now Lucy Starr is on the receiving end of the agony, and unfortunately for him, Dallas Hoover is way too fat heavy for him to re-reverse the move, so he taps out.

Winner: Dallas Hoover

Improperly Labeled

Cut to backstage, we find Joe Boxer with a manilla envelop in hand. He seems to be looking out for someone. A shadow falls over him and he turns, a smile now on his face.

Boxer: Thought I'd find you back here.

We pan out to see Raizzor, duffel bag slung over his shoulder, ready to leave. He just looks at Joe Boxer, who clears his throat and continues.

Boxer: Naturally, I saw what took place earlier between you and McNasty, and I got this idea....

He holds out the envelop. Raizzor just eyes it.

Boxer: It's a contract, Michael. Sign it, and you'll be the special enforcer for the McNasty vs Starr match at RPM:3!

Raizzor immediately reaches out and snatches it out of Joe's hand.

Raizzor: Why do you offer this?

Boxer: Ratings, Michael, pure and simple. It's good to see you back, and I understand it's for one reason, but having you at RPM:3 can't hurt, and with your history with both competitors...

Raizzor holds up his hand.

Raizzor: Say no more.

Opening the envelop, Raizzor pulls out the contract. He eyes Joe expectantly. Joe obliges, handing him an expensive ink pen. Raizzor turns to the wall, props the paperwork against it, and signs. He turns and drops the contract in Joe's hand.

Boxer: Thank you, Michael.

Raizzor offers yet another uncharacteristic smile.

Raizzor: No.. thank you.

Joe turns and walks off and Raizzor stands there silently, a moment later his brother Chamelion walks into the scene.

Chamelion: Joe?

Raizzor: Yes.

Chamelion: RPM offer?

Raizzor: Yes.

Chamelion: Perfect.

Raizzor: Oh... yes.

The scene cuts to static.

Cody Bogard vs the Phoenix

Non-Title Match

The Phoenix walks right to the ring, takes off the World title belt and plasters Cody Bogard across the face with it.

Winner: Cody Bogard via DQ

Monkey Virus

Backstage at PWA's Rampage, we see Matthew "The Virus" Engel for the first time this year. He doesn't look happy. Shit, the guy never looks happy. He notices the camera crew that's following him and signals them to come closer. The Virus stops at a door and he puts his index finger up to his lips.

Knock, knock.

Voice: It's open!

The Virus kicks the door open (that's $200 coming out of his paycheck) and rushes in, clobbering the man inside with a forearm smash and knocking him down. The camera crew rushes in and aims the camera on the guy on the ground. It's... it looks like Adam Gray!

The Virus: Yeah, yeah. I get it. You're a psychopath.

Virus delivers a kick to the ribs, that really fucking hurt we're sure. The guy screams out in pain.

The Virus: You locked away the nice guy, brought out the animal. It's touching.

He drives his right hand into Gray's face, who was trying to get to a knee. Virus gives him another kick to the ribs for good measure, knocking Gray up against the wall.

The Virus: Hell, you even kissed Lisa and you're still alive. I don't know how you survived that.

Another kick, but this time to the face, and the man is lying up against the wall - bleeding from his nose and smiling. Oh, the smile is heinous.

The Virus: Listen, cunt. You really want to do this? You want to start a war with a guy who doesn't need a personality disorder to get fucking crazy?

Virus stomps the guy in the chest, who just keeps smiling. Virus ignores it.

The Virus: Then that's fine, Gray. Because Lisa Seldon is gonna host another memorial tournament. We'll call it... "The One Where Adam Gray is Really Fucking Dead".

Virus goes for a killing blow, but the fucking wall to his left literally blows up which knocks Engel against the lockers. A giant of a man, they call him The Brutal, walks through the hole in the wall and grabs Engel by the throat. He lifts him up to his feet, but Engel fights back with lefts and rights. The Brutal slams Engel against the lockers and then uses both arms to throw him wildly across the locker room floor.

Adam Gray: Thank God we got here just in time, I'm convinced he would have killed me.

But that didn't come from the poor sap on the floor bleeding from his face. The real Adam Gray stepped through the hole in the wall.

The Virus: The.. fuck?

The man on the floor begins to remove make up, fake eyebrows, facial hair.. yeah, the works. But give Virus some credit, because he really looked exactly like Adam Gray. Same build, and with the two standing next to each other, it was a little disturbing.

Adam Gray: I had a feeling you might plan some retribution tonight, ace. And you know how terrbile security is around here. That's why I hired a body double for the evening. I'd say it was a good investment, don't you?

Virus shakes his head, and tries to get up, but The Brutal levels him with a boot to the side of the head.

The Virus: You motherfu--

Adam Gray: Whoa, whoa! Come on, sport... kids watch this show.

The Virus: I don't give a fu--

The Brutal lays into Virus one more time with a kick to the ribs.

Adam Gray: And that's the problem. Bring him up, chief.

The Brutal grabs Virus who beings to elbow The Brutal in the head. It even phases The Brutal, knocking him back a few steps. The Virus lashes out at Adam Gray, but Adam Gray ducks a wild punch from Virus and slams his foot right into Matt's jaw. The Brutal catches Virus in a full-nelson and slams him face-first into the wall.

Adam Gray: Come on. You're better than that.

The Brutal shrugs his shoulders and holds Virus good and tight.

Adam Gray: See what I mean, Matt? PWA security: no where to be found. You would have killed me right there, and I.. (psychotic laugh).. I can't let you do that! I've already died once!

Gray signals down and the Brutal puts him on the floor, pinning Matthew down. The fake Adam Gray stands behind the real Adam Gray. Twilight Zone kind of shit.

Adam Gray: It's been a pleasure, Matt. I've always wanted to meet you face to face. Any last words before I send you away?

Virus lets out a loud breath, and even has a smile of his own.

The Virus: King Kong ain't got shit on me.

Gray cracks a laugh, but then with a fiercely quick stomp... manages to crack Engel's ankle. Engel screams out in pain as the break pierces the locker room and the hallway. Just to rub it in further, Gray flips Engel over and slaps on the Silverlock, wrenching the broken ankle. After several agonizing moments, Gray releases the hold, leaving Engel panting on the floor. Gray, Fake Gray, and The Brutal take their leave... while Engel clutches at his ankle, a deadly glare in their direction. We cut back to ringside.

Jon McDaniel: Dear God... did you hear that?

Brian Rentfro: Un-freaking-believable, Jon. Engel's ankle is done.. he can't...

Jon McDaniel: He won't be in a ring any time soon, Brian. Adam Gray made sure of that... and now...?

Brian Rentfro: Silverback is really back, Jon... and it doesn't look good for anyone that stands in his way.

Matt Stone vs Marvin Wood

Best of Three Falls

Marvin Wood enters the ring, first. He seems to be healthy, despite the recent Dome of Destruction match that he participated in. Matt Stone is next to enter, looking less healthy. His forehead has been stitched up and his right arm is dangling by his side. Katrina is accompanying him to ringside. She tries to tend to him, but he pulls away. In the ring, ‘The Human Labyrinth’ himself appears eager to start the match, as he watches his wounded prey walk down to the ring. Despite remaining still, his body language still radiates an aura that indicates that he is looking forward to the contest. Stone walks up the steps and climbs into the ring. Katrina remains at ringside.

Fall #1

The bell rings, and Matt Stone - with determination etched on his face - immediately uses his footwork to attempt to escape the grasp of his opponent, initially, whilst Marvin is aggressively looking for some sort of hold. With a big grin on his face, Marvin goes in for a single leg trip but Matt kicks him off. Marvin rolls back onto his feet, a little bit surprised. He nods in acknowledgement of the counter, but nothing enters onto the facial expression of Matt other than determination and disdain.

Katrina suddenly gets up on the ring apron, distracting Marvin for a brief second, in addition to the referee. Matt Stone approaches his opponent, who is standing near the corner, but ‘The Crown Jewel’ sees him just in time and propels him into the turnbuckle. With this move, there is a lot of impact directed towards Matt Stone’s chest and shoulders. He turns around a crumbles in pain, resting awkwardly on the middle rope, pain etched across his face and his entire body. Marvin smirks at Katrina, who has been encouraged by the referee to get down off the apron, before immediately grabbing ‘The Straight Shooter’’s right arm and wrapping it around the top rope. He pulls back and the referee counts to four, before Marvin breaks the hold. He then connects with a hard, stiff kick to Stone’s right shoulder joint.

The referee encourages Marvin to pull Matt out of the turnbuckle. Wood grasps a hammerlock from the opposite side; rolls over to his side, forcing his opponent to flip over; locks in a keylock and wraps his own right leg around the head of his opponent. He wrenches this hold on very tightly, and Matt screams in pain. Katrina screams various claims at the referee in an attempt to help her man, such as that the hold began in the turnbuckle and should be broken or that Marvin is pulling apart Matt’s fingers, which is illegal. The referee checks the fingers and sees that this is not the case. Eventually, Matt summons all of his energy to duck under Marvin’s legs and sit over Marvin. Following a brief struggle, Marvin rolls Matt over for an attempt at a cross arm-bar, but Matt quickly gets to the ropes. Marvin holds on for the four count, before backing away.

Matt Stone is exhausted and in severe pain, on the mat. The referee nevertheless asks him whether he wants to continue, and he says that he does. Katrina looks very concerned. The referee begins to count out the multi-time Intercontinental Champion.

...2

...3

Matt is still writhing on the floor, but is trying to figure out a way to get back up to his feet.

...4

...5

Matt rolls onto a knee.

...6

He falls over forward, towards the ropes.
...7

Begins to crawl towards the ropes.

...8

Grabs the bottom rope, and then the second rope.

...9

With the last of his energy he pushes himself up with his left arm from the second rope, just before the ten count. The referee stops the count, but then Matt exits the ring, rolling between the first and second ropes. Whilst talking to Katrina, probably asking her to buy him some time, he staggers around the ring, trying to regain his bearings. The referee begins to count.

Marvin rolls out of the ring, out of the line of vision of both Matt and Katrina, then jogs up behind them, before immediately applying pressure to a surprised Matt Stone, forcing him down to the floor with a Fujiwara arm-bar. Matt screams in agony. Seeing this, the referee quickly exits the ring to attempt to break it up. He demands that Marvin break the hold, but the latter appears to be having too much fun. Katrina is very stressed, also. The referee counts again, this time pre-empting a potential disqualification. On four, Marvin once again breaks. The referee berates him and tells him to get back into the ring. ‘The Purist’ attempts to pick up his opponent and throw him into the ring, but Matt is in so much pain at the moment that he can’t even stand. So, Marvin obliges and enters the ring once again.

Back on the outside, the referee asks Matt whether or not he wants to give up. Again, he declines. So, the referee walks into the ring. He first firmly warns Marvin to not leave the ring again, or he will be disqualified. Marvin seemingly agrees. The referee begins his count.

...1

...2

Matt slowly rolls over to his stomach.

...3

...4

No movement.

...5

He uses the security railing to prop himself up.

...6

He is almost immobilised by pain, as several of the ringside fans shout things at him, some encouraging and others not so much.

...7

He continues to prop himself up with the barricade, eventually using his chin on the top of the barricade to prop himself up for a short time.

...8

He gets to his feet, and begins to stagger towards the ring.

...9

He only just rolls under the bottom rope.

Apparently concerned, Katrina immediately jumps up on the ring apron to confront the referee. As she does so, she throws a foreign object into the ring, out of the vision of the referee. A camera shot reveals that they are a pair of brass knuckles...But, Marvin sees them, first. ‘The Purist’ power-walks over to the brass knuckles and picks them up, placing them on his own hand. Katrina is still occupying the referee, and appears to be about to cost her own man the fall and possibly the match. Marvin walks over to Matt with the knuckles firmly fit on, and waits, poised to strike when Matt gets to his feet.

Matt reaches into his trunks, scrambles to his feet and strikes Marvin Wood in the head with a knock out punch! It soon becomes clear that Matt also has a pair of brass knuckles on his hand. He places the knuckles back in his trunks and crawls over to make the cover. Naturally, at this point, Katrina steps down from the apron. The referee then turns around, sees the cover and begins to count.

...1

...2

...3!

The referee indicates that Matt Stone is the winner of the fall. Some fans vehemently boo, as others cheer and applaud.

Eric Emerson: Ladies and gentlemen, the winner of the first fall...Matt Stone!

Fall #2

It is at this point that the referee notices the brass knuckles on the nearly unconscious Marvin Wood’s right hand. Realising that Marvin is knocked out, and therefore would apparently be incapable of using the knuckles, he suspects Matt Stone and then Katrina of having something to do with it. He then removes the knuckles from Marvin’s hand and places them in his trouser pocket. Matt Stone moves in for another pinning attempt.

...1

...

Marvin just gets his left shoulder up, but then rests back down with his shoulders on the mat and his opponent still on top of him. The referee counts, again.

...1

...2

...

Marvin gets the shoulder up, again, and then slowly rolls onto his stomach. With both men laying on the mat, the referee begins another ten count.

...1

...2

...3

‘The Straight Shooter’ gets to his knees, still clutching his right arm.

...4

...5

Marvin rolls out of the ring and onto the floor. Matt appears to be annoyed. The referee tells Marvin to get in the ring and Stone to stay back.

...1

...2

Behind the referee’s back, Matt gets to his feet, unsteadily, before regaining his balance and heading for the outside. Marvin, who is obviously attempting to get a break in order to recover, looks up just in time to see his foe looking back down at him. And then, Matt Stone begins to stomp relentlessly onto Marvin Wood. The emotion from the injustice that The Phoenix has perpetrated on him and the unfairness of this match wells up inside of Stone, who aggressively gets Marvin up to his feet, before Irish whipping him straight into the ring post. The referee admonishes him and demands that he get back in the ring.

Matt Stone: Alright! You want him in the ring!? Then...

Matt Stone throws the severely dazed Wood in the ring.

Matt Stone: Let’s get him in the ring! I can beat him anywhere I please!

He climbs back into the ring.

Matt Stone: Two falls! These are the two falls I’m talking about, Wood! I’m going to beat you in two falls straight!

He mounts Marvin and rains down with left hands. As soon as the referee breaks it up, Matt drops back down with knee drop to the head. He covers.

...1

Matt gets up of his own volition, very fired up, and now the audience are getting into his resurgence of energy, too. This is despite the fact that he cheated to win the first fall. As the referee checks on Marvin, and asks whether he wants to give it up, Matt quickly drops down with a knee to the groin, out of the referee’s line of vision.

Marvin Wood: No-wAAAH!

The referee quickly snaps his head around, but sees nothing but a crouching Matt Stone ready to pounce. As Marvin inches away from his opponent, Matt steps on his foot, and then stomps down on it. And then continues to kick away at Marvin’s left leg. As Marvin uses the ropes to remain upright, Stone comes off the adjacent ropes and connects with a chop block. He picks Marvin up with a front face lock and pushes him back into the corner. He wraps Marvin’s left leg around the middle rope and stomps away at it for four seconds. Then he turns Marvin about 45 degrees to the right, with his ankle still propped up on the middle rope. ‘The Straight Shooter’ then springs off the bottom rope and lands with a knee into Marvin’s knee joint.

In desperation, Marvin unhooks himself but collapses onto the floor, with his legs facing the turnbuckle and his opponent. Matt immediately knows what to do. He walks towards his downed opponent, picks up both of his legs and attempts a sharpshooter. But, Marvin pulls him in for an inside cradle.

...1

...2

...

Stone kicks out and, as is the nature of this hold, is the first one back to his feet. Marvin also scrambles back to his feet, but Matt quickly kicks him in the knee, knocking him down to his a kneeling position. Matt’s eyes light up and he kicks Marvin in the side of the head with the Kneel Before Zod! He covers.

...1

...2

...

Marvin shoots his left shoulder up. Out of frustration, Matt kicks Marvin’s legs even more aggressively, before mounting him and attempting some punches to the face. But, Marvin gets a thumb to the eye, which knocks Matt off of the mount position. He then connects with the school boy roll-up.

...1

...2

...

Matt rolls out of it. Marvin attempts a mahistrol cradle, but Matt stops it in mid-move, whilst on top of Marvin, in a pinning combination of his own.

...1

...2

Marvin takes Matt over with a crucifix pin.

...1

...2

...3!

The referee indicates that Marvin is the winner of the second fall. There is a distinctly negative reaction for this.

Eric Emerson: The winner of the second fall...Marvin Wood!

Again, a negative reaction.

Fall #3

As Matt Stone copes with the shock of the loss and argues with the referee over the decision, Marvin Wood staggers into the ropes. Matt Stone gets to his feet. He searches for Marvin. When he finally looks in the right direction, he is greeted by Marvin Wood, who is attempting the Imperfect Tense..! But, stone moves out of the way, catches Marvin’s head, spins him around and connects with the C-c-c-c-combo Breaker! He quickly covers.

...1

...2

...3!

Eric Emerson: Ladies and gentlemen, the winner of the third fall, and therefore the winner of the match by two falls to one...Matt Stone!

Matt quickly gets back to his feet as his music begins to play. The referee raises his hand, whilst Matt is almost amazed at his very own win. Katrina enters the ring and is similarly delighted. They celebrate together, as Matt Stone shouts various things at the camera, the live audience and Marvin Wood. They then, eventually, leave the ring.
